Selflessness, contribution, service.

Iori Motohashi is the Charisma of Obedience.

Profile

He is in charge of cooking, laundry, cleaning, and general housekeeping in the house. He always waits for orders.

Appearance

Iori has fair skin and a small build. He has short, dark blue hair with messy, crossed bangs and black eyes. He wears a white long sleeved shirt with a dusty rose colored open-square geometric pattern, a standing-style collar with a straight diagonal opening. The shirt is lined with green on all of the openings, while his sleeves are finished with singular slits and three gold buttons. He wears dark forest-green high-waisted slacks with a long and flat orange and green fabric belt. The belt has a large gold buckle that reads (obey/submit). He wears black dress loafers with a similar, but smaller, design as his belt buckle on the facing. Additionally, he wears a black collar with a gold ring attached, as well as black bands with gold spikes on both wrists.

Personality

He's a huge masochist who likes to be ordered around, going as far as making people sign contracts for him to be their slave.

He is very insistent on helping everyone out and goes to extreme lengths. He likes making his friends happy and healthy and acts like a caretaker quite often. Iori can be very blunt, but in the end he enjoys making people happy and giving himself up for service.

However, despite him being the one receiving orders, he can get pretty possessive towards others, disliking if the others rely on someone else.

Room

His room is on the first floor, Room 103. His room is in disarray in comparison to his usual attitude about chores. It's noticed that the fact that it is right besides the washing room is intentional.

Etymology

  • Iori means "depending" (依), "central" (央), and "interest" (利).
  • Motohashi means "book, present, main, origin" (本) and "bridge" (橋).

Trivia

  • Iori likes to refer to himself as a “dog for the people” and sometimes barks.
  • He and Kei Sarukawa are childhood friends.
  • Given his obsessesion with submission to others and the fact that in several MVs he is shown with a ball gag, it is possible that he is into the BDSM subculture.
    • However, despite these implications, he strongly denies that he's an M.
  • Iori's hips have a length of 83cm.[1]
  • He has an older sister.
  • The first thing he does in the morning is let the washing machines run.[1]
  • He says he doesn't know when his whole "service" thing started and that he's been like that for as long as he can remember.[1]
  • In episode #103, he's avoidant about his sister coming all the way to visit him, causing him to shut down on his room and not following any of the orders being told to him.
  • On Shinjuu Break, he resembles an Oiran.
  • He gets hysteric when the others aren't relying on him, even to the lengths of saying that "they're taking away his life purpose", the others find this attitude to be creepy.
  • He makes a reference to Arle Nadja from Puyo Puyo in episode #24 by reciting the game's chain mechanism.
  • Iori's "Shinjuu break" actually means "Prove your love" instead of "Double suicide". This is because in the context of an Oiran, they were told by the clients who fell in love with them to prove their love (Shinjuu), and one of the ways was for the courtesan to get a tattoo with the client's name and next to it "命" (Inochi), which would mean "for life". Episode #104 is called 命, hence this would be the closest meaning as to why Iori got "Shinjuu" break.
  • It's easy for him to get along with the elderly. In episode #30 he mentions having a good relationship with the elderly in the shopping district, and later on, in episode #87, he mentions being surprisingly a "silver killer", which is a movie, and the main character gets along with the elderly.
  • His name in CLUB Amahiko was Iopi (いおぴ)
